We use data to improve the health of communities through community health needs assessments and CHIPs/implementation strategies…
Hi,
We hope you are having an amazing start to your summer!
As things warm up outside, the Moxley Public Health team is prioritizing spending time outside in nature and getting active. Getting outdoors has been shown to be linked to a host of health benefits - check out this link from the USDA for details! We believe in the importance of work-life balance for our team, our clients, and our community.
As always, our focus this month is to collect and transform data into actionable and usable results. Reach out to us anytime to learn more about community health needs assessments and CHIPs/implementation strategies! Set up a FREE discovery call with us here.

Tips & Tricks of the Month
Don’t have time to get outside this summer because you are stuck sourcing and formatting the bibliography for your CHNA and/or CHIP?
This month we want to share a powerful, free online tool that makes generating a bibliography a breeze - Mendeley. Features include cloud-based storage for all of your sources, integration with word processing software for in-text citation, and more!
Did You Know?
Did you know that there are measurable health benefits to getting outside in nature? This includes improved physical and mental wellness.
Check out these 7 science-based reasons to get outside immediately, from Participaction.
Public Health Need Spotlight
One of the most commonly discussed public health needs is physical activity.
When we talk about physical activity, it is important to consider how different external environments influence and shape health through motivating and/or discouraging physical activity. For example, the warm weather making us want to get outside, is a key facilitating factor to physical activity.
This review from Extreme Physiology & Medicine discusses how outdoor (aka. ‘Green’) environments facilitate physical activity and lead to additional physical and mental benefits over indoor environments.
Public Health Organization Spotlight
This month, we’d like to highlight the collaboration between two of our clients - Magruder Hospital and Ottawa County Health Department in Ohio. By working together on their community health needs assessment and implementation strategy, they are able to more comprehensively involve the community in the assessment, and use resources more efficiently!
We can’t wait to share more details…
